As a child, my mom would occasionally tell me, "you don’t know everything," or she would say, "why don’t you just listen instead of talking all the time." My mom wasn’t cruel, she was right! Unfortunately we often forget that number one, we don’t know it all; and number two, we talk more than we listen. So how do we discern the right decision? What does it mean to seek wise counsel? And how important is it in making right decisions? Proverbs 24:6 NLT says, "So don’t go to war without the wise guidance; victory depends on having many counselors." Simple paraphrase - all of us are smarter then one of us.
